On the Federal level, there is a tax credit equivalent to 30% of the installed cost of the system available to either businesses or individuals. For businesses, this can be converted to a cash grant through the end of 2011.

On the State level, there is no sales tax on material or installation of the system. Plus, the State pays a production incentive based on the amount of kilowatt-hours of electricity generated. This "cost recovery incentive" varies from $.15 per kWh to $.54 per kWh depending on where the equipment is manufactured.

For Community Solar Projects, the State incentive varies from $.30 to $1.08 per kWh.
